(SRL Release June 11th)Indy Racing Northern Light Series driver and Supermodified Racing League President, Davey Hamilton of Boise,Idaho is in stable condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianpolis for injuries sustained in a crash on Lap 73 of the Casino Magic 500 on June 9 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Hamilton suffered severe injuries to both of his legs and feet when his car hit the fence exiting Turn 2 in the Indy Racing Northern Light Series event. His injuries include damage to bones, muscles and blood vessels, and circulation to his feet, according to Dr. Henry Bock, director of medical services for the Indy Racing League.
He was transferred Sunday afternoon from Parkland Hospital in Dallas to Indianapolis’ Methodist Hospital by an air ambulance. Surgery at Parkland early June 10 and subsequent surgery at Methodist that night were directed at stabilizing the circulation and removal of damaged tissue. Early reconstruction of the multiple fractures was begun as well.
Subsequent surgeries will be directed toward further reconstruction of bone, muscle and skin Hamilton is under the care of a team of specialist physicians led by orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kevin Scheid.
Hamilton, a two-time Indy Racing championship runner-up, was injured when his No. 99 Sam Schmidt Motorsports Racing Special Dallara/Oldsmobile/Firestone collided with Jeret Schroeder’s No. 6 Tri-Star Motorsports, Dallara, Oldsmobile/Firestone after Schroeder’s engine failed.
Hamilton recently moved to Eagle, Idaho, his home state, after living in Las Vegas for the past five years. His family extends its appreciation for the support it has received but is requesting no visitors.

(April 12th)Thank you everyone once again for your well wishes, thoughts and prayers.
John is improving everyday. The past two days he has spoken a few words. Everyone's name I mention he recognizes. His memory is sharp, but he is in a lot of pain. The nurses are amazed at this recovery. He has good mobility with his arms and is grabbing at everything in sight. His legs are in casts so he has a little trouble moving them. Hopefully he will be moved out of ICU in the next couple of days.

(Mon April 9th) John was updated from critical to serious condition yesterday. He opened his eyes and understood most of what was said to him.
(April 7th 2001) John Krause a Push Truck Driver with the Cascade Push Truck Assoc. was involved in a on track accident in Turn 4 Saturday Night April 7th 2001 at Evergreen Speedway during the caution on the 4th lap of the NSRA 35 Lap Feature, and hopefully he will be able to recover soon and be back out at the track doing what he liked best- being involved at the races, he is still listed in critical condition in Seattle, Wa, I will try and keep everyone updated on his status.
